Conyer's show

Well the Conyer's show was today and we did pretty well. I think combined we got 6 legs but I won't know for sure until I get the results. I know Irene got BOS twice and I'm pretty sure Jacob won a leg in each show so that would be three legs. I think Clara got one as well. Butterball did very well and got BOG and Best brokens but their weren't enough bunnies to get a leg. Hershey also did fairly well and I'm not really sure what he got. I think it was a good show and everybody had fun but it lasted all day!!

We came home with a few new additions:

Green's Lilic - Pointed White HL doe: We are very excited about this little doe. She is a brood doe but we are very excited.

Green's Mason - Sable Point HL buck: Mason is very sweet and we can't wait to show him.

Green's Tonka - Black Otter buck: Tonka is a False Dwarf I think but he has pretty nice type so I will breed him to my smaller does and see what I can get out of him.

11-17-11

Well nothing new on litters. Cocoanut missed this time and I think we may retire her to a pet home. Musical was due yesterday and so if she doesn't today I will rebreed her. After much studing and evaluating, Starburst has a Cinnamon doe and a Cinnamon buck. I think I may keep them both because their type is so nice but I'll have to see.

The Conyer's Triple show is this weekend and we are taking:

Butterball
Clara
Hershey
J3
Jacob
Irene

All are juniors except for Jacob. I am excited to see how they do. Butterball is just turning out so nice!! I can't wait to see how he does. Clara is very nice also and I can't wait to see how she does now that she's a little more matured. J3 is also very nice and she will be six months old next week so I will breed her after this show. Hershey was one I threw in the mix at last minute b/c I was evaluating him. Jacob won a leg when he was kind of molty so now we will see how he does. Irene our HL doe is extremly nice and I can't wait to see how she does.

It rained here a couple of days and now alot of the leaves have fallen off. The weather is beautiful and I'm sure the bunnies are also loving it. TNT

11-9-11

Ok I think I have it figured out. Fireball is the dad (I thought it was jacob b/c I thought they were torts, a mess up on my part) and we have smutty fawns. So I guess we will see if their bucks or does.

Broken Lace had a litter. She had four but one was a DOA I think but it was probably a peanut as well. She has two broken blacks (one heavy pattern one spot) and something else. I think maybe tort or choc. I guess only time will tell. CE3 also had one chocolate otter but sadly, it was dead. :( I'll give her a little time to make sure she is done. Cocoanut our HL is also due and she pulled fur so if she kindles I'll update everyone.

Help!

Okay, remember I said Starburst had torts? I don't think so now. I have no idea what they are. I was evaluating them yesterday because they were 3 weeks old. I have posted these pictures and will welcome any advice! They have blue/gray eyes and I almost wonder if they are smutty fawns? They have lap spots on their belly. Please leave me a comment or email me at senadastarr@yahoo.com with any help.

Please let me know. TIA!

11-5-11

The bunnies are all doing well. I have several litters due in the next few days/week. If I get any, I'll update. I added Red Oak to the for sale page. I wouldn't sell him but he has been known to bite. He has wonderful color! I love it! He has very nice type as well. I am asking $75 for him. Contact me if you interested. Anyways just a short update from Son Rose Rabbitry.

11-3-11

Can you believe it is already November? The days go by fast! I lost Dancer's whole litter. :( I'm not really sure what happened. Well I'll just try again.

Starburst babies are doing great. I think I mentioned that the sire is my Siamese Sable buck, Jacob. Most of you are probably thinking "Why would you breed a Orange to a Sable??" but let me tell you the story.......

Starburst, my broken orange nd doe became broody at about 4/5 months so I decided "why not try to breed her? She's young, and does normally miss the first time." Then the question came. "Who do I breed her to???" At the time, I had no chocoalates, oranges, ect. Her type is OK and my sable buck has really nice type so I thought "why not?" So the 31 days went by and a week before I put hay and a box in. Not expecting much. I went out to feed and water on her due date who is ripping out fur?!? I was shocked! It turned out to be chestnuts. I pictured them below: (These are random photos, I didn't get them at the same age.)

Chestnut Doe

Aren't we cute?

Broken Chestnut buck

So after that I bred her to my broken orange buck "Fireball" and she missed. Then I got to thinking "That was fun getting chestnuts, I'm going to try that again" and got TORTS!! What a suprise. I took this picture today:

Aren't they adorable?!? They are so sweet!!! Starburst won't be going anywhere any time soon! :) She is a great mom! Thank you Andrea at Peachtree Rabbitree for this sweet doe!

I updated the website and took Broken Splash off. She is turning out way nicer than I thought so I bred her to Hershey. I might sell her in the future but for right now I want to see what I can get. Cocoanut our HL doe is due tomorrow and if she kindles I will write a new post.
